Groups of Interest

Previous to their arrival at Site 52, many of our anomalous beings were affiliated with different groups. In some of their cases, we believe that studying their backgrounds with these groups may hold the key to understanding more about how our anomalies came to be. See the list below to learn more about the various groups our anomalies have spent time with.

Chaos Insurgency

Considered terrorists by most anomalous organizations and governments, the Chaos Insurgency is the antithesis of the SCP Foundation; in fact, many Insurgency members are Foundation defectors. While the Foundation seeks to contain anomalies in order to protect society, the Insurgency believes that it is the natural state of the world for all anomalies to be free. In their efforts to free anomalies and fight the Foundation, Insurgency members frequently attack SCP sites and free dangerous anomalies into populated areas, causing mass casualty events.

Horizon Initiative

In a world where the anomalous can conflict with the teachings of religion, members of the three abrahamic religions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam) put their differences aside to create this organization. Some members believe that anomalies are a sign of the coming end times, are demons created by Satan, or are even a punishment from God. Despite the many disagreements between members, the Horizon Initiative aims to investigate anomalies that may validate their religious beliefs and purge the world of those anomalies that go against them.

Manna Charitable Foundation

The Manna Charitable Foundation is a non-profit organization that seeks to help disadvantaged communities around the world. The charitable foundation has attempted to capture and use beneficial anomalies to aid these underdeveloped communities. While the Manna Charitable Foundation has undoubtedly improved conditions for people around the world, they have also faced accusations of mishandling anomalous objects, inadvertently making disasters worse.

Parawatch

A conglomerate of web forums, paranormal enthusiasts, and conspiracy theorists who are attempting to investigate and expose anomalous phenomena. Without any of the funding or information resources of other anomalous groups, they very rarely find anything of value. On the off chance they do encounter something real, the community of hobbyists is woefully underprepared to deal with real anomalous entities and they often end up becoming victims.

Wondertainment

A manufacturer of anomalous, or as they claim ‘magical’, children’s toys. While the toys are promoted under the idea of pure fun and wonder for children, many of these toys end up harming nearby adults. Whether these toys are purposefully made to cause injuries to people or the injuries are all accidental is unknown. Despite the foundations best efforts almost nothing is known about Wondertainment, the individuals behind the company, or how they are able to produce these anomalous toys.
